Lesson 15
Fixing Red Eye |
Red eye is a major problem in flash
photography. |
Introduction |
In this lesson we will learn how to
zoom in on the eyes in our images.
We will give you two very easy
methods of correcting red eye. |
Step #1: Select Image |
In the “Photo Well”, click on
the image that you wish to work on.
A blue border will highlight the
selected image. |
Step #2: Quick Fix |
In the Main menu, click on:
[ Edit ]
Then click on:
[ Go to Standard Edit… ]
Step #3: Zoom
Tool |
Select the “Zoom Tool” by
clicking on:
[ Magnifying Glass ] |
Step #4: In
Position |
Here we have shown both eyes in
position for red eye removal.
We are not really removing the eyes,
so it probably should be called red
eye conversion. |
Step #5: Red
Eye Tool |
Select the:
[ Red Eye Correction Tool ] |
Step #6a: Red
Eye Removal Method #1 |
With the “Red Eye Removal Tool”
selected, click once directly on
a red area of the
pupil.
The red will be replaced with a
neutral color. |
Step #6b:
Adjust Size |
We can now fine-tune the size of the
pupil as shown. |
Step #6c:
Adjust Darkness |
We can now fine-tune the darkness of
the pupil as shown. |
Step #7: Red
Eye Removal Method #2 |
With the “Red Eye Removal Tool”
selected, drag it over one red eye
area. This will result in a square
selection around the entire eye.
The red will be replaced with
neutral color as shown.
We can now fine-tune the size and
darkness of the pupil the same way
we did in Steps #9b and #9c above. |
Step #8:
The Results |
You can judge the results from the
before & after images. |
Step #9: Exit
& Save |
Now we should exit the “Quick
Fix” screen and save the changes
to our image.
The methods for exiting & saving
were outlined in Lessons #5 & #6.
Remember, these changes only occur
on a copy of the original, not on
the original photo itself. Both
images will appear in the “Photo
Well” as shown here.
