Lesson 1

Getting the Program

This program can be purchased online from Adobe.

It is also available in the retail market for about $90 US.

It often comes bundled free with the purchase of some digital cameras.

Introduction

Elements 3.0 Basic will give you the ability to download your pictures directly into the program. It will organize your pictures and show you thumbnails of them. In addition, it will allow you to make automatic corrections to your pictures. You will be able to print or email any pictures you wish.

Step #0: Already Have It  

If you have already purchased or received this program with your new digital camera, you should move directly to Lesson #2 – “Installation of Elements 3.0 Basic”

 

Step #1: Download  

Go to www.adobe.com

Click on:

[ Products ]

Click on:

[ Digital Imaging ]

Step #2: Select Elements 3  
Click on:

[ Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 for Windows ]

Step #3: Order  
Click on:

[ Order ]

Step #4: Select Download  

The following screens will appear.

Click on:

[ Add to cart ]

Step #5: Continue  

The following screens will appear.

Click on:

[ Continue ]

Step #6: Check Out  

The following screens will appear.

Click on:

[ Check out ]

Step #7: Security Alert  

The following screens will appear.

Click on:

[ OK ]

Step #8a: Have ID  

If you have already registered previously with Adobe & have an Adobe ID, enter your:

“Adobe ID”

“Password”

Click on:

[ Sign in ]

Step #8b: No Adobe ID  

If you have not registered previously with Adobe & do not have an Adobe ID, select:

“Country”

Click on:

[ Register ]

Proceed with registration
Step #9:  

You will then be taken through a series of screens that will ask you for your billing information (i.e. Visa or Master Card), as well as your email address.

Step #10:  

When this screen appears,

click on:

[ Save ]

Step #11:  

We suggest that you save this file to your desktop as shown.

Use the drop down arrow beside “Save In” to move to “Desktop”

Click on:

[ Save ]
Step #12:  

The file will now download.

When complete, click on:

[ Close ]

Step #13:  

This “Icon” will now appear on your Desktop.

This is the Installer Program, not the Elements Program itself.

We still have to install the program.

The installation is covered in Lesson #2 - “Installing Adobe Elements 3.0” 

Summary

In this lesson we downloaded the Elements 3.0 program directly from the Adobe Web Site. It is also available through retail outlets, as well as bundled with some new digital cameras.
