Lesson 9
Fixing Photos
Applying Filters |
The most important difference
between Album Starter & Album Full
Version relates to fixing images.
The Starter Version only allows
Automatic Fixes.
The Full Version provides Automatic
Fixes with the option of Manual
Override. |
Introduction |
This lesson will deal with the
possible application of two optional
filters. |
Step #1: Select a Photo |
To fix a photo, you have to select
the photo that you want to work on
from the “Photo Well”.
This is done by clicking on the
photo as shown. |
Step #2: Fix |
The next step is to use the “Icon
Menu” & click on:
[ Fix ] |
Step #3: Fix
Photo |
From the drop down menu, select:
[ Fix Photo ] |
Step #4:
Prepare The Image |
You will now come to the “Fix
Screen”.
You should set up the “Before &
After Views” and rotate the
image if necessary.
You will also have to set the screen
up so you can zoom in & out on your
image. |
This was covered in Lesson #5 |
Step #5: Apply
Filters
( If Desired ) |
To use the filters click on the
button at the top, named:
[ Filters ]
The panel opens up and shows
“None” checked as the default –
this means that the program will
leave the color as is. |
Step #6: Apply
Filters
Black & White |
If you click on the button beside,
“Black & White”
The image will be transformed into
black & white.
This means the program threw away
the color information & made the
image black & white.
Remember:
this only happens to the copy of
your original. |
Step #7:
Apply Filters Sepia |
If you click on the button beside,
“Sepia”
The image will be transformed into
sepia.
This means the program threw away
the color information & made the
image sepia.
Remember:
this only happens to the copy of
your original |
Note |
We would expect that in most cases,
you would retain the color version.
The image in your “Photo Well”
will appear with the effects of the
filter that you have applied.
In a later lesson, we will discuss
retrieving your original image. |
Step #8:
Finish |
You can go back and change some of
the fixes that you made by returning
to the function using the “tabs”
at the top of the Corrections pane.
When you are happy with everything
click:
[OK ] |
Final
Reminder: |
You will receive one last reminder
that the changes have been made on a
copy of your original – your
original image remains unchanged. |
The Fixed
Photo: |
The new edited version of your photo
will now appear in your “Photo
Well”. |
