Installing The Program

This program is available as a retail download from Adobe. The download process was covered in Lesson #1.

It is also available on CD from Adobe and other retailers, or in a bundle with some new digital cameras.

Introduction

In this lesson, we will cover the installation of the Album 2.0 Full Version program.

The initial instructions vary slightly at the start, depending on whether you downloaded the program or have it on a CD.

We will cover the installation, registration and commencement of the program.

Step #0: Download or CD

If you have a CD version of the program, either from retail purchase or as part of a bundle with a new camera, skip steps #1 - 3 and go directly to step #4

If you downloaded the program on-line from Adobe, start with steps #1 - 3, skip steps #4 – 6 and start again at step #7.

Step #1: Download

Installation

 

After completing the download, the icon below will appear on your desktop.

This is the “Installer Program”, not the Album Full Program itself.

We still have to install the program, so double click on the icon:

Step #2  

When the following screen appears, double click on:

[ Setup ]

Step #3  

Click on:

[ Accept ]

After accepting the legal agreement, the installer program will start.

Step #4: CD Installation  

After you insert your program’s CD in your CD drive, this screen will appear.

Select a language:

[ US English ]

Click on:

[ OK ]

Step #5  

Now you must agree to the End User License Agreement.

Click on:

[ Accept ]

Step #6: Select Layout  

Select the action that you wish to take.

Click on:

[ Install Adobe Album 2.0 ]

Step #7: Installation  

Click on:

[ Next ]

Step #8  

Adobe wants to have your language choice confirmed.

Click on:

[ US English ]

Click on:

[ Next ]

Step #9  

Adobe requests an another confirmation of their legal agreement.

Click on:

[ Yes ]

Step #10  

Fill in your personal user information.
When you have entered this information, the “Next” box will become active.

Click on:

[ Next ]

Step #11  

Probably the best place for this program to be installed is on your Drive “C:” into the “Program File” directory.

If you have a special reason to change this, use the “Browse” button to allow you to navigate to the desired drive.

When you are happy with the installation directory, click on:

[ Next ]

Step #12  

This pane confirms which program you are installing and where you are installing it.

Click on:

[ Next ]

Step #13  

The necessary files will be loaded and installed.

Step #14  

Here you can choose whether or not to view the “Read Me” which contains the most recent information on the program.

You can also opt to start the program immediately after the installation process.

Click on:

[ Next ]

Step #15  

When the Registration Screen appears:

Click next to:

[ I want to register online ]

Click:

[ Continue ]

Step #16  

Enter your Serial Number.

Click on:

[ Continue ]

Step #17  

Adobe maintains a record of your account. This enables them to inform you of new updates and features.

If you have set up your account in the past, enter your “Adobe ID” and your “Password”.

If you do not have an account, click on:

[ Register ]

Step #18  

Adobe thanks you for registering.

Step #19  

When you start the program, the “Quick Guide” will appear on the screen.

This gives you an overview of the features of the program.

It may be useful at first.

It will continue to show up whenever you start the program as long as it is checked to do so, as illustrated.

Step #20  

When you do not want the “Quick Guide” to show up at the start of the program any more, just uncheck the box in the bottom left corner.

Note: Late Registration  

It is possible that during the installation phase, you did not have your serial number available.

You can still finish the installation. Adobe gives you a grace period to register.

If you wish to register later, go to the Main Menu and click on:

[ Help ]

Then click on:

[ Register ]
